Today gas was $3.429 in the morning and I was thinking I could wait until afternoon to fill up. Boom, $3.599. The gas prices go down when I don't have the money to fill up, but then I get money and the price goes up.

By the time they're finished next week, oil will probably be down to $50 per barrel, but by some freak of nature electric rates will double and we'll have an extra cold winter.  Now, had I stuck it out with my oil furnace, how much you wanna bet oil would have gone to $200 a barrel?

Replying to: lemmer (Sep 12, 2008 10:23 am) Haven't seen that gas shooting up here as of lunch time. We will see. Best thing people could do is cut down on driving for a week or so. If higher prices "due to hurricane" result in fewer miles driven the prices will come right back down. Time to put a stake through this vampire.

Topped off two tanks ahead of IKE. I should be good for a month. We had a 3.58 to 3.99 run up the day they pointed IKE at the Gulf.
