Now ... does anyone have any comments about how the price of gas is affecting you? Even if it's dropped a good bit below $4 in lots of places around the country?

Filled the Expedition up today for $3.67. Yeah, I'd like to see them lower, but it doesn't affect me either. Last tank lasted two weeks.

My normally intelligent coworker was telling us that we needed to leave the office and go buy gas now. Because of Hurricane Ike, the price should hit $5 sometime this morning. It is at $3.59 right now.

LOL!

I guess Exxon and Valero shut down operations to ride out the storm, which impacted gas prices along the Texas coast nearby. I am not expecting prices to jump near me unless a significant portion of oil production is put out of commission by Ike.

I noticed a slight bump in prices this morning. The local Shell raised the price of 87 from $3.589 to $3.659. Whatever it jumps up to, I'm sure it'll come back down in a few days. All my cars are still at least half-full, so I shouldn't have to worry about filling up for awhile.

That's approximately eleven cars with 10 gallons each. You should be good for a while, I'd say.

Gee, maybe I got lucky. Had to fill yesterday at $3.25 up in East Brunswick. By the time it needs more the Ike spike will probably be gone.

Constantly steering people back to the topic at hand. I like it.

Anyway the gas prices aren't affecting me much, since I don't drive any more than I have to anyway/.

It's more irritating than anything. Today gas was $3.429 in the morning and I was thinking I could wait until afternoon to fill up. Boom, $3.599. The gas prices go down when I don't have the money to fill up, but then I get money and the price goes up.

Of course it did...that's because I finally bit the bullet and decided to get an all electric heat pump installed. By the time they're finished next week, oil will probably be down to $50 per barrel, but by some freak of nature electric rates will double and we'll have an extra cold winter.

Now, had I stuck it out with my oil furnace, how much you wanna bet oil would have gone to $200 a barrel?

Maybe I should listen to the conspiracy theorists...

Gas went from $3.59 on my way to work to $3.99 at lunch time at several of the local stations. Anyone under $3.99 had them lined up into the road. Crazy.
