He was informed by the IMF (his employer at the time) that they were not withholding FICA taxes and that he was liable for them. They even paid him extra to cover the extra taxes he would have to pay. He knew full well that he had to pay them.

I always to do mine too, with a little help from TaxAct and I resent that if I really want to save money I have to go hire a tax preparer to help me with them. No one else in the running has likely done anything but drop shoe boxes of receipts off at their CPA for twenty years and thus has no clue how convoluted the whole process is. Back to the topic, gas is creeping up here in spite of cheap barrels of oil on the world market and I'll predict $2 a gallon gas here by March 1. From there it's only another eight weeks to $3 a gallon gas. And then it'll be hurricane season. " No biggie but it's spelled Geithner, Timothy F. Question in my mind is , do they not do any vetting before you become President of the NY Fed or Vice-Chairman of the open market committee. Contango does point to higher oil/gas but I think we'd be very hard pressed see $3 this year in this deflationary environment. Citibank taps for another $12b, Fnma for 35b and cash rich msft laying off workers. Fast forward this year please. On another note Chrysler sells off 35% ( potentially) of the company and doesn't get any money?

Don't you wish you could substitute "401k" for "Gas Prices" in this headline? Gasoline Prices Rose 15% So Far This Year $1.85 looks to be the norm nationwide. |
