Replying to: oldfarmer50 (Jan 03, 2009 10:04 am) I believe GM has put a GPS type recorder in every vehicle they have built since 2003. We discussed that here once. The Oregon mileage charge plan has been put into limited use for a couple years. It seems that it would be easier to just get an Odo reading when you get your license tags each year.

The black box stuff isn't connected to satellite stuff I don't think, at least not yet. It more sensor stuff, like the ABS, that retains the most recent actions. So if you have a wreck, you may be able to tell if the brakes were locked in the two or three seconds before impact. More over in the Black Box Data Recording discussion I guess, although that one hasn't been active for a couple of years. |

" I rather like replying to those worth replying to rather than to any well wishers of the Joads.But they'd kick his northern butt in OK so on with the post. Smiling and most good naturedly , good will to all. To keep us topical, intersection near me has a Chevron and across the street an Exxon that closed and has been rebranded into a Citgo. Depite being 10 cents cheaper no Houstonians have yet crossed the line. Everytime I pass it it is empty. Price will prevail but for the near term , good on you Texans. Suck it Hugo. Happy 2009 all.
