I'm not going to pay one red cent for those pensions.

Sure you will Lars in Taxes. You are already part of the first bail out and your grandchildren will be paying for that and the next round.

But to answer Steve's chastisement for getting off track, $4.00 gas has no effect on me at the moment.

In case you missed it, the "bailout" was a loan. Taxpayers will get every red cent back.

Sure they will. And our taxes aren't going to go up. And you can trust a politician.

Sorry about that host.

No impact on me from $4.00 gas, and I will continue to not tell the masses what they should do.

"...Taxpayers will get every red cent back..."

OH GAWD! THAT'S FUNNIER THAN SEINFELD. ROTFLMAO!!!

Back on topic. As Gas drops past $2.50 in my area I now have another $30-40 per week to spend or save as I choose. That's a new car in 20 years. I'll be almost ready to replace my 2008 by then.

I'm not sorry, because I know what I am "preaching" is the right thing to do.

The impact for now is that instead of paying $250 for my gas for my Thanksgiving trip to visit my family I'll only pay about $180.

Thanks for that, Americans. Your lack of driving (one of the things I have advocated) helped bring the prices down.

Filled up at $2.03 today. by tankbeans

Hey all-

I just paid $2.03 today for my gas. I was excited that I could fill up my car from 1/4 tank for $22 and that'll last me a while. Then again I still have to deal with the fact that my mileage sucks because we have 10% ethanol and that gives us a net 6% decrease in economy, I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I'm just guessing. Somebody else who knows about the chemistry is going to have to help me on that one. I know people who are able to get 34 mixed with the same model and it sounds like they drive like I do, i.e. no hypermiling, just normal driving. The most I've cracked is 29.5 in my Accord 4cylinder with a 60/40 city/hwy split.

there are lots of variables. about a year ago, i had a ford focus. i was getting about 31 mpg. winter was approaching, so i decided to buy new tires. i researched and picked out something i thought would be good. when the tires were put on i also had an alignment done. my mileage immediately dropped to 27 mpg. the tire had a 30 day return policy, so i replaced them with new oem tires. my mileage went up to 29, but not back to 31.

AutoObserver reported the other day that "with plummeting gasoline and diesel prices, some industry insiders are beginning to question if even seemingly definitive investment commitments for smaller, more fuel-efficient models, advanced powertrains and hybrid-electric technology may suffer some kind of "reconsideration."
