Just filled up the truck today. Gas prices actually came down a bit. $2.639 for 87, $2.939 for 93, which the Silverado needs unless I want to hear valve clatter. Planning on filling up the Intrepid tomorrow morning.

lemko says, "why are gas prices are so high?"

Well, it certainly can't be INCORRECTLY blamed on "Bush the Oil Man" anymore, thankfully.

Here's another good one to chew on:

"ICE is an online commodities and futures marketplace. It is outside the US and operates free from the constraints of US laws. The exchange was set up to facilitate "dark pool" trading in the commodities markets. Billions of dollars are being placed on oil futures contracts at the ICE and the beauty of this scam is that they NEVER take delivery, per se. They just ratchet up the price with leveraged speculation using your TARP money. This year alone they ratcheted up the global cost of oil from $40 to $80 per barrel."

I would say the high price of gas is due to the LOW value of the dollar. On this date in 2008 the price of RUG at Costco was $2.07 per gallon. I filled today and it is holding at $2.69 per gallon. That means our dollars are worth about 24% less than this time last year. I know who is to blame. But will not go there. It ain't GW BUSH....
