Pulled out of its secret workshop and displayed on the grounds of the Ferrari factory just for us, the 2009 Ferrari California stops us all in our tracks. We all just stand there. Mouths open. Like high-schoolers in the presence of bare breasts for the first time.

The 2009 Ferrari California exterior was designed by Pininfarina, but the interior was designed by Stile Bertone.

I was one of those shocked high-school kids too when I was the California! What an amazing car and I agree that it looks best with the top up! Great article too BTW!

First Practical Folding Hard Top by bankerdanny

"Who among us would have guessed that Ferrari would be the first carmaker to produce a hardtop convertible that efficiently packages all of the mechanisms, panels and mechanical bits of the top into a car and still manages to leave some cargo space in the rear of the car? Not us."

Especially since that disctiction belongs to Mazda and the outstanding power folding hard top available on the Miata for roughly 15% the price of the Ferrari. The Miata's folding hard top fits were the regular top would have gone and doesn't intrude into the trunk in any way.

The small pass through on the Ferrari is a nice touch though.
