I received a letter from the Ford Motor Company (FMC) last week explaining these two CSPs on my 2004 Lincoln LS V8. They both extend the limited warranty to 10 years from the warranty start date or 100,000 miles, whichever occurs first. If your vehicle has more then 100,000 miles then the coverage extends to 11/30/2008. 07M07 deals with the engine ignition coil assemblies. It authorizes the dealer to replace any defective coil on plug (COP) that causes a misfire, a hesitation/surge upon acceleration, rough idle or illumination of the check engine light. The repairs are free of charge (parts and labor). 07N09 deals with the leaky ignition coil covers and wiper motor bracket seal if the coil shows water contamination. FMC will also replace all COPs and plugs that have been damaged by water "even if the coil is functioning properly". The repairs are free of charge (parts and labor). The letter also states that your dealer will start necessary paperwork to reimburse you for any repair that has already been performed to the COPs and related parts. Do NOT send requests to FMC, your dealer must implement the reimbursement process. See your dealer to check on these two CSPs if you didn't get a letter. I am not sure what year(s) it covers, just that it covers my '04. |
