Wafting down a poplar-lined French motorway at 100 mph, the 2009 Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe's unique Power Reserve meter informs you that fully 90 percent of the 6.7-liter V12's 453 horsepower is still available, should you need it to whisk past a dawdler.

it's imposing and if i made more than my present income (lots lots more) i would very much like to own one. a couple of observations though: when has a car with a massive steering wheel had a sporting steering wheel and why has RR resorted to gimmicks with the absolutely ridiculous "stars" in the ceiling? other than that i have always wanted to experience the phenomenon that is the "turbine" smooth engine of a Rolls.

I have sat in the drophead version and it is stunning. The steering wheel is enormous especially compared to my Lotus Elise, but the seats are so comfortable you might swear you're driving a sofa fit for a king.

It even has umbrellas pop out of the area where the door hinges would be on a normal car (because of the suicide doors).

And yes, the doors really close by themselves. Marvelous.

Rolls Royce Phantom What need to improve ......by Larry Leo by larry_leo

Hi All Phantom owners and fans

I must say that Phantom till to day is still the best 4 doors car for the past decade.
The drive is so smooth so quite and so comfortable that it literally transform every road into a river , it is that smooth and quite . image you are cursing slowly in the water , is that smooth and comfort , no rolling and no vibration .

Other than all this fantastic performance, there are still area that need improvement .
1. opening of the back boots is very inconvenience , the switches is at the roof together with the compartment lighting , easily cause confusing .
2. The battery triggering changer socket at the back boots is make of thin plastic which can break easily , and also is very inconvenience to use as it need to screw in and out each time to charge and uncharged the vehicle.
3. The 2007 model and earlier , do not come with reverse camera and front camera . There is also no provision in the wire hardness to cater for the after market camera installation , for such a size of car , the camera is almost a must to have but was not provided.
4.The sound system is very normal nothing to talk about , in fact the system is worse than BMW 760 iL 7 logic system.
5 . The leather for phantom is of very good quality , but to thin and can get crumble easily . In fact Bentley Leather from London are better than this rolls Royce leather from Germany. Bentley leather are thicker and more durable.

OK so much for now .

I Also want to say one thing : If you own one of this Phantom , you must drive yourself rather than letting your driver driving it . Otherwise it is like buying a pent house and let your maid to stay and use it and you only sleep in side the master bed room and know nothing about it .
