2010 Kia Soul First Drive - First Impressions: Finally and quite fittingly, a Kia with some soul. (more)
2010 Kia Soul Full Test and Video - Bottom Line: Fashion sense is everything in a funky hatchback and the Soul has it. But we're more attracted to this box's driving dynamics, which are among the best in this class. (more)

Finally, a concept that's making it to production. What do you think of the upcoming microcar from Kia, due out this Fall? http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/FVDP/Preview/styleId=100849248 |

If you want to see some funky interior and exterior shots of this thing? use the link below. I can't wait to see, touch, drive and flog this rascal. I thought it was downright fugly when I first saw the concept, but over time it has evolved into stone ugly, then different, then curious, to now just plain interesting. Some speculate that it will replace the Sportage. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/hatchbacks/kia-reveals-production-soul/

Update: Kia has confirmed that its new Soul hatchback will be sold in the U.S., with the first models set to arrive in April next year. The U.S. will receive two petrol models, displacing 1.6 and 2.0L, respectively, while Europe will receive an additional 1.6L turbodiesel. Production of the Soul will begin in November in South Korea, one month after the car makes its official public debut at the Paris Motor Show. Original: Kia has released the first official image of its new Soul compact ahead of the car’s world debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. The first cars will hit showrooms in Europe in early 2009 and will eventually reach the U.S. and China later that same year. The Soul was shown in concept form shown as far back as the 2006 Detroit show but it was restyled this year by Kia’s new head of design Peter Schreyer to showcase the carmaker’s latest design language. The original concept was designed jointly by Kia’s Californian and Korean design studios but the final production model was created by Kia’s European design team. Production of Soul will begin in South Korea this September and in China by December. It should feature a 2.0L petrol engine with drive sent to the front wheels and seating available for five adults. Kia is hoping to double its sales in global markets by 2010 with the introduction of several new and updated models. The first of these will be a facelifted Sportage SUV in July, followed by the Soul and two new sedan models next year. The carmaker is also scheduled to option its first U.S. plant next year and is planning to build up to 300,000 vehicles per year at the new Georgia site.

| You can find the first test drive on Car and Driver's web site. Nothing really new but at least the damned thing is really coming here, though its performance and gas mileage are decidedly understated..........but, its cool!! | |
A better review is online at Edmund.com. Lots of new photos and pics. Enjoy!
