There are all kinds of ways to look at high performance. Times being what they are, a growing number of people think mpg is a lot more important than mph. It's all about a secret subculture called "ecomodding." Read more and post your comments here. Ecomodding: Tuning Your Car for 100 MPG |

I did not think a Prius could be uglier. Obviously, today I have been proven wrong. Why can't they make a "good" hybrid vehicle that actually looks like a normal, proper looking car. The only one I know of is the ford escape that is actually a good MPG mini suv hybrid, the civic hybrid is ugly and the Fit gets better gas mileage. Brand new Top Gear compared a BMW M3 vs Prius MPG. BMW beat the Prius, it was quite funny and scary at the same time.

Replying to: curvenin (Jun 27, 2008 12:45 pm) Price- $30k for an Escape is a bit much. Milage runs in the 22mpg range with the AC on. If you run it in econo-ac mode you get no AC and a bump to 25-26mpg. The power is unacceptable at least here in NJ where I work, it's borderline dangerous, having the acceleration of a 1992 Hyndai Excel. -mike |
