The check engine light on our Sienna came on last weekend. Dropped it off at the service center yesterday and evidently it needs a new computer. $1265. Not exactly what I wanted to hear. The van has 115,000 miles on it. I have trust issues with this diagnosis, okay, I have trust issues in general with mechanics. My DH suggested we take it home and reset the computer and wait to see if the light comes on again. The price hurts, but at the same time, is all this trouble worth it? Replying to: jipster (Jun 24, 2008 12:17 pm) I have a 2002 Sienna with code P0420. Based on a TSB from Toyota, the computer program is not optimal and you need to change the computer to a new and improved version to solve the problem. Of course thsi is at the Owners expense, since Toyota will not admit to a design flow and extended warranty! I am very disappointed at Toyota over this problem.
