Lincoln Navigator child locks

I have a 98 Navigator, the child lock on the back door locks by itself. Even after putting it in the off position it will after a few opening lock itself. We have taken the panel off and have found no problem that would cause. My worry is in an emergency passenger woud not be able to get out. My youngest child is 15.Any ideas???
