No response from the remote when you press a key may indicate weak contact point between the button being pressed and the circuit board. Dirt inside the unit can prevent a good contact point.

If you feel comfortable prying up the remote to access the inside, all you have to do is clean the surface of the circuit board exposed to all contact points. Also clean the contact side of the buttons. I developed this problem with an aftermarket car alarm system after about 3 years of ownership. I did what I explained to you and the faulty buttons resume working fine until I sold the car (a two year period). I used a slightly moist (with water) piece of cloth, and carefully cleaned all the contact area on both sides, circuit board and button area; then used a hair dryer to make sure that nothing was left humid inside the remote. I am aware of spray cleaners, kind of aerosol cans, solely for cleaning electrical/electronic parts.

Or take your remote to an alarm dealer. They should not charge you more than $5 for this minor issue.

Thanks for the advice I tried cleaning it several times and it didn’t work I bought a new replacement controller but it also wont program, and the car is going into programming mode but for some reason it just not working. At this point I’m actually trying to locate they alarm to see if there something wrong with the unit or the cables but cant seem to find it any ideas where it might be. Thanks.
