Replying to: avalondanny (Jun 16, 2008 7:09 pm) If you feel comfortable prying up the remote to access the inside, all you have to do is clean the surface of the circuit board exposed to all contact points. Also clean the contact side of the buttons. I developed this problem with an aftermarket car alarm system after about 3 years of ownership. I did what I explained to you and the faulty buttons resume working fine until I sold the car (a two year period). I used a slightly moist (with water) piece of cloth, and carefully cleaned all the contact area on both sides, circuit board and button area; then used a hair dryer to make sure that nothing was left humid inside the remote. I am aware of spray cleaners, kind of aerosol cans, solely for cleaning electrical/electronic parts. Or take your remote to an alarm dealer. They should not charge you more than $5 for this minor issue.
