Riding in the 2009 Cadillac CTS-V - Meanwhile the V-spec CTS seems entirely unstressed. The exhaust note is not angry and harsh like you'd expect from a race-tuned V8. It's not raspy in the upper sound registers like the stunning Mercedes AMG 6.2-liter V8. (more)

maybe i'm reading this wrong, but i think this is the first article i've ever read in a car enthusiast publication where somehow going fast (and faster than any other sedan) is a bad thing. oh wait, it's an american product. now i understand. unequal shafts on front drivers are everywhere, even on rather ordinary cars (ohmygosh, even chevys!), and have been for many, many years. he must have made a further innovation. |

| Agree with porscheaq. The regular CTS is an attractive vehicle. It looks like they went to ebay for aftermarket styling on the new CTS-V. I'm a little disappointed that the design team would go for that look; just thought something understated would be in order. Reminds me of the previous gen CTS-V. | |

7:59 lap time at the ring ain't shabby. Of course for the same price, the Nissan GT-R does it in 7:38 with 100 less hp. In my opinion that lap time is the ultimate performance measure for these kind of vehicles. The CTS is a great step forward for GM, and I like the base model. But who wants to spend over $60K for a CTS, even if it has 556 hp? Why not keep the price below $50K to have some advantage over the M3? This car is nice to drool over, but even if I wanted to blow $60K on a car (which I'd never do), I wouldn't consider a CTS-V.
