Oddy, I worked at a VW parts dept as a student...the cars are fussy and can be expensive to maintain, but the fit/finish never make you feel like you're driving trash...nothing comes for free. VW's first quarter sales have been down, +/-20%, but not the +40% of the other guys; dealers seem to want to keep this momentum, plus there must be something unpublished VW of America is doing for dealers to account for these good deals people are getting. Re. trade, first find out what your car is worth (edmunds, cars.com) drive your trade there on buying day, tell them no trade, it's a great car, I'm keeping it. Make your best deal, and before you hit the finance guy, ask your salesman ok, what if I did trade it? I'm usually willing to eat as much as $1-1.5K vs. all the hassle of selling privately, but most dealers will never even give you that much...good luck! Get a Tig, you won't be sorry. |

Replying to: tnt718 (Jun 17, 2009 5:59 am) I bought my Tig from Larson VW in Tacoma. I live up in Seattle but as you can tell by the price, it was well worth the drive down. If you live in the area I can give you my sales reps name. I have had a bit of remorse because I really wanted a TDI Sportwagen, but even the dealer who gave me this great deal wouldn't discount below MSRP. Overall I am happy with my final choice. |

We plan to buy a Tiguan S in Chicago. The dealer offered us a OTD price of 24,700. And we can get the 500 customer loyalty rebate. This is a car with the standard equipment only. Does anyone know whether this is a good deal? Thanks.
