I received a quote of SEL w/ sunroof for 3k below msrp here in the bay area while there are deals like 6k off msrp + 0% APR in the east coast. Any NorCal Tiguan shoppers here got better deals? Thanks for any input! |

Just received the following from my VW dealer. This is for a 2009 FWD SE, Alpine Gray + sunroof + floormats. (I am in North Carolina.) MSRP $29,174.00 Invoice $27,213.00 (The invoice on the car is $27,006.00 edmunds does not account for the $25.00 port prep, and $182.00 Interest Reserve that the dealer pays) Internet Sale price $26,563.00 $661.00 saving below Edmunds TMV of $27,224.00 Tax 3% $ 796.89 Admin $ 389.00 Tag $ 80.00 Total Out the Door $27,828.89 Based on earlier appends, I think maybe another 3-500 less would be good, but availability of Tigs seems to be limited now. Thanks for your thoughts. --travis

Just wanted to give an update on my recent SE FWD purchase. 2009 FWD Alpine Gray Tiguan SE w/Leather and Pan. Sunroof in Nashville, TN: Sale Price: $28,063 ($28 below invoice) Tax (7.65%): $2,147 (sucks, but get $400-$500 back after tax deduction in 09) Fees: $269 Total OTD: $30,479 I was originally going to purchase an 09 Honda CRV EXL (already had the deal worked out and ready to sign), but liked the way the Tiguan looked and drove much better and the 0% APR made it possible for me to go up a few thousand over the CRV price...plus there are just so many CRVs on the road. I wanted something different and the Tiguan has great user reviews...and I see why. I'm loving the car so far, but has anyone else experienced a slightly delayed acceleration response when hitting the gas from a stopped position? It doesn't do it when I use the manual tiptronic shifter though. Just wondering if this is normal in the FWD Tiguan when in auto drive Thanks. Matt. |

Replying to: bamatide01 (May 02, 2009 7:10 pm) 2009 Tiguan SE 4Motion Panoramic Moon Roof Flap Guards Mat Kit $27,950 + Tag, Tax, Title 0% APR for 60 Months Included $470 VW credit towards first installment under graduate financing We turned down an offer from another dealer that included the Protection Kit ($300) and 18" New York Alloy Wheels ($400) for the same price. We paid the premium as we were keen on specific color and this dealership manage to procure it after a 10 days wait. We were almost inclined towards CRV LX 4WD but the base model had a little unimpressive interior for the price you pay. When you compare the price/features of CRV upgrade (at usual 4-6% financing) to Tiguan (at 0% financing) there is not much difference in what you pay. But world of difference in your driving experience. I don't have to promote Tiguan on the Tiguan forum. But those thinking of a CRV, just do yourself a favor and test drive a Tiguan. We were sold the moment we opened the door. Of course this is our second VW so there was always a bias. The amount of electronics/electric controls are bit intimidating from maintenance perspective. Beyond warranty period, you always want to take the Tiguan to VW dealer only. So I guess purchasing an extended warranty is a must. -vw2009
