Dealer gave me new offer of SE Model w/4Motion, Nav, Gorilla Mat Kit, 18 in' wheels (versus the normal 17 in' with this trim model) & Sunroof for $439 a month with $3,000 down and $1,000 dealer cash. It's a 36 mth/12K lease with a financing total (TTL already included) of $31,362. Black w/Charcoal Interior. Wanted Candy White With Charcoal Leather (SEL 4Motion Model) but this offer seems better than last and includes Nav. Dealer off tomorrow, but holding vehicle aside for me for 2 days maximum, to give me time to mull over offer. Have 3 payments left on current Honda Pilot 42 mth lease of $355 that I'll have to pay off myself if I want to jump on this deal, but friends of mine think it's worth it for all that I'll get. Thoughts?

Replying to: Gyrlwolf (Feb 25, 2009 7:32 am) $510/mo... That's the best way to compare lease prices... What is the total cost divided by the term... With the same calculation, the base model is leasing for about $355/mo. + tax.. My feelings are still the same.... The lease program isn't very good, which makes the Tiguan an expensive vehicle to lease, relative to it's purchase cost... But, that isn't that unusual... there aren't many SUVs that are good lease buys, right now.. Hopefully, someone will post a comparable lease price over in lease questions... We don't have a lot of activity to compare prices on the Tiguan.. I wouldn't be in a hurry, either way.... Especially since you have 3 months left on your lease... If you find a comparable vehicle without NAV, you'll save about $25/mo, even at these prices.. regards, kyfdx

I hear VW is expensive to repair & maybe not as good as they say with their "german engineering". A mechanic told me he doesn't like VW's, other people say I'm crazy for spending so much when other car manufacturer's are giving theirs away & some with 0% financing. I don't feel good about spending $30000 + on a car but I've tried driving others & keep thinking about this car. I love this car but not the price. If it was say $4000 less, I'd have had one for 2 weeks already. It's compared to the Honda CRV, Toyota Rav4, & Subaru Forester but the Tiguan, I feel, has so many more options built in (but for $5000 more!) & the leather is so much nicer so it's hard to talk myself into one of these others. Then I think about what I could do with the extra $5000............ I haven't made a decision yet but need to this week. I guess I really really want the Tiguan but feel it's too expensive & don't want to pay their price. I am very unhappy with ALL of the VW dealers elitist, snobby attitudes & feel the same as many--- that they should appreciate our business & be willing to negotiate better in these economic times. But, they DON'T. I walked out of a deal over $690. They could've sold their car but wouldn't come down that amount...actually called me the next day & RAISED the price because they said they made a mistake. Are you kidding me, lol?????????? What kind of business ethic is that! So I'm a little torn over VW, sour over all of those issues but love that little Tiguan. |
