First Drive: 2009 Lincoln MKS - First Impressions: The world's most completely equipped Taurus/Taurus X/Sable/Volvo/Flex, which turns out to be not such a bad thing. (more)
Full Test: 2009 Lincoln MKS AWD - Bottom Line: A luxury sedan for the Ford faithful, but all others would be advised to look elsewhere as there are far better luxury sedans for the price. (more)

Isn't ironic that when the 08 Honda Accord came out, there were many people screaming that the design was stole from different cars. However the design on the MKS as not be talked about. There as only been great things. I can not help but laugh at the unfairness of everyone about things that are not American. I am saying this because the tail light of the Lincoln reminded me of the 2005 Hyundai XG350. I am sure no one will publish this.

MKS has not been an exception. |

| I agree with your lament. Its a nice ES 350 and pretty comparable but for the name. Lincoln has lost a lot of cache the past few years that may never return. | |

Let me start by asking the moderator to not move this to a new discussion. It is much easier to just check the one forum, and I'm sure most people here would be interested in discussing the article. Inside line is not a fan. In fact, I think it's the harshest review of the MKS I've read. Now I haven't driven one, but can someone who has comment on the following from the inside line review: "It's slow, crude and questionably built. It's even a little awkward to look at. Forty-six grand? For what? The engine sounds like it was built by preschoolers...in Slovenia." |

I was at the Detroit auto show and got my first taste of it without the sales pitch from the display folks. I was impressed then and still am now. I remember my first impression on the styling inside and out saying "These guys were on the good dope when they designed this." Yes there are a few points of concern but none of them were deal busters. One of the major complaints I had heard and notice was the trunk opening. Yes it is smaller, but I could still could get a couple of duffle bags in it. The trunk is so huge; the Sopranos could have used this car. If there was a car out there that satisfied me totally with no issues what so ever, I probably could not afford it. But I will say this MKS is damm close. I plan on providing a detail report on it to all who are interested once I have mine in my hands. The one I ordered had just about everything you could put on it, which is taking the time. The 20 inch rims are not available yet. I thought Inside Line was on the cheap stuff myself on their eval. I have looked at all the others, but I think the MKS was a great knock out of the park to start. I see more home runs coming with the 2009 MKZ, and the 2009 MKT as well.

I agree with him that is too high for this type of car and too high for Lincoln right now. They need to build market share. Of course, this is the same company that has been pricing that hoary old Town Car in the same range...and then selling it for more like $30K if that.
