You are in the Lincoln MKS Forum. Your Hosts are pat & karens
First Drive: 2009 Lincoln MKS - First Impressions: The world's most completely equipped Taurus/Taurus X/Sable/Volvo/Flex, which turns out to be not such a bad thing. (more)
Full Test: 2009 Lincoln MKS AWD - Bottom Line: A luxury sedan for the Ford faithful, but all others would be advised to look elsewhere as there are far better luxury sedans for the price. (more)
Your "first drive" aritcle about the Lincoln MKS brings to mind the quote from then Vice President Spirro Agnew as Edmunds have become the "nattering nabobs of negativity" regarding anything Ford produces. Your complaints about the vehicle are unfounded period. Vehicle is good looking without being some outrageous ego driven exercise in "look at me" , safe to the max, carries an impressive list of standard features, drives well, is extremely quiet, offers an abundance of interior space, and is price pointed well. Yes, we all wish the "eco-boost" engine was available now but at 273hp in todays energy world this vehicle is powered well. Did it ever occur to you that the buying public may not all want a boy racer in the garage? I think the individual who wrote this poor excuse for automotive journalis should be put out to pasture as he is obviously a broken down old nag..

It would be interesting to compare this vehicle against the Cadillac DTS or Buick Lucerne . |

| I will agree that the interior looks nicer than anything Ford has ever produced, however, the exterior is completely generic . The real question is.... WHO IS GOING TO BUY THIS CAR??? These will not sell. The only demographic I can picture this car appealing to is the 60+ year old crowd and they already have a favorite overweight American branded "luxury" car and that's the Cadillac DTS. And to address the comment about platform sharing, not everyone does it, and those companies that do share, do it better than FoMoCo. The Lincoln's, MKX and MKZ look way too similar to their Ford siblings. Oh yeah, and I'm sick of hearing about Lincoln "reinventing" itself every year. There is nothing noteworthy or original in any Lincoln model currently offered. Can anyone say, Mark LT? Hahaha, what a joke! | |

It's one thing for Lincoln to share platforms with its entry level to mid price vehicles, but it's an abomination to do so on its flagship.
