A new key for an Aveo with the remote keyless entry system costs close to $200 (just under $150 for the key and just under $50 to program it for your car). That's not a trivial expense to fix a problem caused by a missing $0.05 piece of plastic. I suggest checking a local electronics store. They're likely to have all sorts of switches and buttons, and if you're lucky you'll find something that'll fit.

Replying to: srs5694 (Sep 10, 2008 6:49 am) Luckily nobody was hurt, i.e speeds weren't too great, brakes & crumple zones, etc. worked well! Of course the driver did not have insurance, a driver's license or a valid license plate...but he passed a field sobriety test (even thoug he admitted to having at least two beers and several shots of tequila that afternoon) ... oh well... |
