Couldn't agree more with these other veteran owners. We got what we consider to be a great deal on our '07 LX I-4, and maybe we could have actually done better, I don't know. I think we had gone as low as the dealer intended since he knew the car would sell to the next customer anyway. We had, for him, a delicious trade in an '05 Sedona he wanted badly, I know that. Big point is, we got a very, VERY nice car with the Rondo and we are absolutely delighted even after 5,000 miles, with one long trip. One tiny warranty call with a disconnected harness to the back passenger door window motor, fixed correctly in 15 minutes and not even at the dealer from whom we bought it. The Rondo is, for us, and obviously thousands of others, a great car and a great buy. Alaska is a "limited competition pool" for dealers and I have friends who live there or were there for a while who mentioned that bargains are hard to drive just because of the reduced competition. You may well have done most of what could do. Most important conclusion is you got the car(s) you wanted. Our interior is...beige...cloth! All there was in the model and trim we wanted. Ours is an LX and this cloth seems to resist water and dirt pretty well in comparision to some of the stories of the "deluxe" cloth. But it "dinges" over time. Stay connected - let us know how ownership goes and what comes up. Good people here with much to teach and much to learn. Congrats on your Rondo! (We're thinking Rio Cinquo or Spec 5 for our daughter soon!) Vanner '07 LX I-4 5 seat Volcanic Red with that )#&% |

Ha ha you made me laugh with your sign off...our Rondos are twins, I too have the volcanic red with that exact interior!!! I figured it'll get dingy, the dealer says that the "protection" stuff they are putting on it will really help...hmmm we'll see about that, my life can put any interior to the test, floral business, two big dogs and kiddos!!! Come to think of it is burlap an option?!?!?! Or maybe blue tarp? But seriously thanks a million for all the positive feedback...I feel so much better....and driving around in my zippy new car sure helps too! Though it feels odd to call it a "car" they are SOOO roomy inside, and we have had a blazer and a suburban so I do not use that word lightly I did absolutely get the car I wanted, perfect for camping and my floral business without being a dreaded mini-van, no offense to the mini owners, but hey I am 25, it's gotta have a bit of the cool factor! I'm not sure if we have deluxe cloth or regular, probably standard, we have the LX model, I did like the options of the EX, but out of our price/finance range and they didn't have any at the time, ah well. As far as being in AK, yes there is MUCH limited options, which is odd, I mean we're more urban than my husbands family in PA, but there is this perception that we are in the middle of nowhere...and they know it..I think next time we'll road trip it down south! Or maybe Canada...been too long since we took that beautiful drive. Also, I know this isn't the spec 5 thread, but since you said you were considering it for your daughter thought I'd mention that my hubby is LOVING his, just filled it up at 500 miles(he commutes about 100 miles roundtrip everyday) about 35mpg right out of the gate...after 15mpg on our Blazer we were wondering is the gas gage was maybe broken On another side note, on the "clicker" auto lock thing on the keys, the button for the rear hatch, I thought mine was broken, then they said it just wasn't programmed, now they say that it just unlocks the back hatch, doesn't actually open it...which seemed a little odd to me since my owners manual says it opens it. What does this "mystery button" do for everyone else? Thanks again...great resource...more info from owners than ANY other resource out there...including the manual!!! Loving my zoom zoom... Replying to: jessicaak (Jun 05, 2008 10:27 am) Tailgate unlock (3) The tailgate is unlocked if the button is pressed for more than 0.5 second. The hazard warning lights will blink twice to indicate that the tailgate is unlocked. After depressing this button, the tailgate will be locked automatically unless you open the tailgate within 30 seconds. Also, once the tailgate is opened and then closed, the tailgate will be locked automatically. D020105AUN The tailgate does not move, just unlocks maybe you pressed it too quick, if it appears not too open, hold the button down a little longer, also it will re lock if you don't open it within 30 seconds. I have downloaded the manual in pdf form so I don't have to bother with my copy in the glove compartment, makes it a lot handier and also I can do a search which makes finding the information I require a lot easier. 2008 Rondo EX, 5-seater, 2.4L, Aqua Silver Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada |
