Satisfying Experience! by drjcool1

Last month I returned my BMW X3 having had a pleasant 2 year lease. I was all set to lease a new RX 350 since the deals are so great now (I previously had a 1999 and enjoyed it). Anyway I just test drove the new GLK and was blown away. I think it combines the handling prowess of the X3, but is no where near as hard driving. Very quiet with that"solid" bank vault feel that ONLY Mercedes can deliver consistently year after year.

PLEASE share thoughts, prices and details regarding potential deals as they become available. Thanks to all!

MBUSA doesn't have lease info for the GLK yet, but MB Canada does.

A GLK with an MSRP of 48k CDN would lease for 688/mo CDN with no money down and 18k km/yr, 36 months. As best I can figure this translates to a MSRP of 39800 USD and a monthly nut of 570 for 36 mos. Of course I have no idea if MBUSA will offer a similar deal.

The local dealer here on LI in NY told us he'd have figures within the next few days. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with. I'll post when I get the info.

My local dealer notified me yesterday that the residual on a 24 month lease had been set at 63%, and at 54% on a 36 month lease. I asked him for money factors, and when I get them I'll post them.

Residuals and Money Factor by crestonave

Here's some additional information from the dealer I've spoken with here on LI in NY, and it's a direct quote from his email:

Residual for 36 months 15k mi/yr….51% (sorry, 54% was a low mileage lease)

Money Factor…...0.00197 (equates to approx. 4.75%)

Result: Using an average equipped GLK; a no money down lease paying taxes and fees up front is approx. 615 – 625 /mo

I just received an email from the salesman at my local dealership. As of today this car is at the top of my list (done a lot of research, too). I priced-out one online, with European Delivery Program , at about $43k. However, I have the luxury of time as my current car does not go off-lease until summer. I am waiting for the release of the Audio Q5 and the Volvo XC60 to make sure that this is 'the one'.

The LINY dealer is correct with the figures he/she gave you. However, a very close friend in NJ has 6 of them and is leasing them (thru MBUSA) at quite a savings comparatively. They drive incredibly for an SUV, and the build quality is superb.

If you'd care to share your friend's contact information with me I'll touch base with him.

I looked at lexus suv and drive acura mdx but my lease will be up in june. Do you think I might be able to lease GLK with 15,000 miles yr/o down for 525 with tax.
The lexus dealer gave me this figure for 42 months....I could do 42 month lease with GLK. Also I would be interested in the NJ contact also.

Maintenance Costs? by jweldon

I was just talking with a coworker about her C class and she brought up a very good point. Mercedes does not include service anymore while BMW, Volvo (now), and Saab (there may be others) do. She also said that while they love their MB, they hate the fact that they have to fork-over a lot of dough to the dealer every time there's a service interval or oil change. She said one oil change interval ended up costing $300. Yikes!

When you add this in (as part of the 'true' ownership cost) to the equation, it doesn't make the MB quite so glamorous.

Has anyone seen any true-market-cost data on the GLK or asked about what the cost is for the MB service intervals?

I'm torn between the GLK and the upcoming Volvo XC60; this doesn't help make the decision easier...
