2004 Steering Noise When Turning Right

My wife has a 2004 Malibu with 82,000 miles. She has driven 95%+ of these miles but yesterday she told me about a whine from engine. Her example for the noise was something like the noise when you blow air into a bottle to whistle. I test drove the car when I turn right I could hear the whine and I also thing I noticed a light sound of a bump when Turing right. Thanks in advance for possible solution

In addition of the above the car will make a squeal when just driving w/o any turns on steering wheel. Could this be a vacuum leak? Thanks
