I wish it had something for me to reproduce with it. That is how much I love my Maxima in the 2 weeks I've owned it. I get car washes about once every other day. It's an obsession; an addiction. This car is terrific. It's better than an Infinity, which is what I started off wanting before looking at the new Maxima. Here she is: My 100% Fully Loaded & Supped Up 2009 Maxima. I threw EVERYTHING in for a sticker price of $39,600. Smart? Who knows. But I'm happy. I'm leasing it & I think I got a good deal. The best part? The colors I demanded 'didn't exist with the config I chose'. I confirmed that with 9 Nissan dealers, until the 10th was able to get 1 from a few states over. She's 'Super Black' with a 'Cafe Latte Premium Leather' interior. She's loaded with the Premium + Technology packages + has a spoiler, mats, yada yada. The drive is like a nap on an express cloud to heaven.

Replying to: firefish (May 29, 2009 4:57 am) i've been researching myself silly for the last cpl months and feel like i'm very close pulling the trigger on an 09' soon. i haven't driven one yet. what's your impression of the cvt transmission? does it take away from the driving experience at all. it's hard for me to imagine not really feeling the shifts, etc. i know there are several modes that allow you to paddle shift and stuff. i'd just be interested to hear your overall take on the cvt. also, how does the stereo sound?? i found one unlocked the other night on my local nissan lot, but, of course, had no power to turn on the radio, check out the cool power sunshade, etc. robert

I own a Radiant Silver 09 Maxima SV with Sport/Tech package. I'm a extremely impressed with the car. Performance is effortless, with a wonderful exhaust note that is missing from other sport sedans I tried. The CVT is adaptable; put it in sport mode and it will "shift" for you, which is psychologically more satisfying, but I must say, just commuting on the freeway or inching your way to a toll booth, the CVT makes the most of the efficiency of the engine. You may also paddle shift in either mode: the down shift in regular drive will hold till you upshift, then reset itself, in sport mode it holds the gear except when power accelerating, when it auto shifts at redline. I also like the car because it is lighter than its competition and you can feel that responsiveness, especially with summer rubber which I would recommend for your sport package car. The tech package is identical to Infiniti's fine system and iPod integration is excellent. What would I change? I think the door panel insert leather is a little bland. The black leather seats have red stitching (also on the steering wheel); a little patch of red alcantara on the side panels would look fantastic. I might just have to do that to the car down the road a little. Also an extra is the styling, which seems directly connected to the muscular body shape of the 370Z. It is a car I always look back at when I've parked it. The light hits the silver in a myriad of ways which allows a visual "ripple" across the sensual shape of the body. That is something I cannot say for other sport sedan's out there. |

| This new maxima inside and outside is ten times better than the previous generation maxima. It looks very infiniti to me and having owning both a G37 and FX35 I can say that. I actually mistaked it the other day for a G37 from a distance. Love the unique led taillight design which is a nod to infiniti yet has its own unique pattern to make the car unique and different from infiniti | |
| My lease is ending on my 2005 FX35 next month and I'm getting a 3.5SV maxima with the tech and cold package for around 37k. Don't see it as a downgrade what so ever. This car is sweet and actually has more horsepower and torque then my current infiniti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | |

Replying to: rlooney (Jun 08, 2009 8:05 am) Firstly, I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't buy the car. Although I could buy it now, the residual is higher. The CVT hasn't 'bothered' me. I actually like it, alot. With the very heavy weight of the car and powerful Sports mode, I think that the CVT is a good thing. I too like fast cars, but I'm a realist. When the heck am I gonna use stunt driving? The CVT does great in my day to day driving. LOL; I love this car so much that I find reasons to get dressed at 3 AM & go for a drive for no necessary reason! It's that much fun! |
