88 Astro V6 vibrating power steering pump

Has anybody run into an issue of a power steering pump vibrating so violently that the power steering rear support bracket and the huge front accessory bracket is cracked as well as several bolts being sheared off. Brackets, bolts, power steering pump and belt tensioner were replaced...and it happened again! All of the pulleys line up and none of the other devices (water pump, alternator, AIR pump or air conditioning compressor) are binding or seem out out of balance. Could the pump be backing up and vibrating if there is a problem with the steering box? There is never any sign that this is going to occur other than the feeling of a rough idle and then the belt is thrown. I'm totally stumped. Thanks, Jim
