15,890 is the 2 door S with the stick. 18,990 is the price for the 4 door. 16,990 is the 2 door with tiptronic price. Oops I made some typo errors .

Yeah, that sounds more like VW pricing territory.

Another change or two to mention. On the 2 door model, the center armrest feature is still not available. The change is that unlike the 2008 model, you can't have the dealer install the center armrest as a dealer-installed feature for 2009. My understanding is that the armrest has an i-pod adapter built in, but only on the 4 door model. The 2 door model has an "audio-input" installed inside one of the cupholders, not an i-pod
adapter. I was told that the armrest cannot be installed there as it would block access to the audio input. A bit strange, why would they do this?
Second change. Stability control is now standard on all models, as rv65 indicated.
However, if one deselects the "ESP" switch...all it will do is deactivate the traction control feature. Stability control will remain engaged, whether the button is on or off. In the 2008 model year, it was an optional feature. If you disabled the feature,
it also turned off both traction control AND stability control. Not so for 2009.
It strikes me as counter-intuitive to charge nearly $3,000 more just to get 2 extra doors and an i-pod equipped center arm rest. What am I missing here?
Did I essentially cover it? Or am I missing something here?

WOLFSBURG, Germany — Volkswagen headquarters has told Inside Line that the all-new sixth-generation GTI and Rabbit will go on sale in the U.S. by early September 2009. The new models start production for North America in late June. European buyers started taking delivery of the new Golf/Rabbit last month and will get the GTI next summer.

Also expect a TDi Rabbit model. There will also be a GT model as well. The GT will have both Gas and Diesel engines available. The GT Diesel will be for those who like Diesel and sport. No word on when the Twin turbo GTD will come out. That is basically the Diesel GTi. The new Rabbit will move upmarket and won't be an entry level car due to costs. It will get nicer equipment like the RNS-510 touch screen HDD Navigation system.

The new Rabbit should also have factory iPod integration via the MDI and the special cable. It shows song info and it integrates the iPod like an iPod. The MDI only works on the RNS-510 but the RCD-510 and RCD-310 both work with it. The RCD-510 is like a non nav RNS-510 with no hard drive and a built in CD changer. The current crop of non nav radios don't support the MDI. VW is commited to bringing next generation radios by 2010 model year or soon with the RNS-510 already being out.

Also say goodbye to the Rabbit Name. It will now be called the Golf again.
