You guys can keep your hybrids and tofu. Give me a Chevrolet, and I'll dust ALL your hybrids.

"You guys can keep your hybrids and tofu. Give me a Chevrolet, and I'll dust ALL your hybrids. "

I have a better proposal. We will give your Chevy and the Hybrid 10 gallons of gas, and see who goes the farthest. Who do you think would win that one?

Oh, and what would happen if it was a Chevy hybrid? It is enough to make your eyes cross...

Last one. Would you use a feather duster, or a rag to dust off the hybrid?

Sorry, your Aveo is smaller, weaker and uses too much fuel. That was a bad choice about mentioning Chevys

Any New Photos or Specs on the 2010 Prius..or Any Other Good News? by akg

I have a Subaru Outback and get decent mileage (21-28mpg). I have lately been following all the suggestions on improving my gas mileage...and they work! I really love the AWD and need it where I live.

I have been advised time and again to hang tough for a few more years as the technology is advancing rapidly out of a fossil-fuel driven car. I would love to see that.

But, I am still considering the 2010 Prius. Any new articles or links with photos? How about any links on the new Hydrogen Fuel cell cars coming up? Thanks!

For me a Hybrid sounds practical but the initial outlay is to big a premium, and Im not sure of battery dependability. Its going to be expensive to replace them in a few years.

But if you can take the increased payment and spread it out over 3-4 years. that could justify the daily gas savings your getting. Leverage, like house buying but the car value goes in reverse. You have house payment (the car payment) and the equity you gain (the gas you save) as house prices (gas prices) go up.

Here the Hybrid gives you instant equity as it relates to your current gas bill and more equity as prices go up.But your car payment is losing value, the opposite of a house. A gallon is up a 1.20 from year ago. So you lost that gas savings or equity if you didnt buy one

Me,Im looking for a job with less miles to commute and keeping my payed off car. Currently my commute is only 25 miles round trip. Soon Ill be riding a bike 4-5 miles to work, and driving my gas hog for the fun and power.hahahhahaha

The first Hydrogen-powered car is out there, but only available in parts of Southern California. Honda's site for the FCX Clarity: http://automobiles.honda.com/fcx-clarity/

And I'll laugh as I pass you gas station after gas station. I had a Chevy Silverado 4WD Z71 pick-up. I drive about 70 miles a day in heavy stop & go traffic. The difference between Prius MPG and Chevy MPG pays my Prius car payment. I average 44 MPG in heavy rush hour traffic. How does the Chev do? Cha Ching !!

Chevy had a chance to own the high mileage market (EV-1), but they blew it! If you look at what Chevy calls "GM technology", you'll find Toyota beneath the hood. The Vibe is just a GM'ed up Toyota Matrix. The Tahoe Hybrid is almost a Toyota Sequoia with a GM body.

GM actually owned the Prius battery and then sold it off to Phillips petroleum - who had absolutely no need for it. The next gen Prius will approach 100 MPG ... better than a Vespa and a lot more practical. PS: The Prius will outrun your pickup truck! Just ask Al Gore's son.

There is a new gen electric motor from the aerospace industry which may come on the market soon. It will be a polyphase motor without permanent magnets. It will be able to provide huge low end torque along with high speed power - without overheating. The transmission may no longer be needed since the motor can be electronically switched to the speed desired.

I really hope this technology will be incorporated into the new Prius along with Lithium Ion batteries and solar panels. A little larger wheel openings with flares would also be a nice touch. I'd also appreciate an "El Camino" style variant. This may be the only way to separate me from my '06 Prius.
