Comparison Test: 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 vs. 2008 Ford Mustang Bullitt
- Though the Mustang Bullitt is 637 pounds lighter than the Challenger and has shorter overall gearing, the mighty Challenger ruled on the drag strip. The Hemi simply pulled its weight, even in this 4,154-pound wrapper.

pony_pirate, steeda, bren &several others offer "canned " tunes for mustangs. You can specify 87 89 91 92 94 or higher octane for the tune or tunes. The one which I got from steeda was a 94 and was a little to hot as I can only get 92 octane pump gas here in Oregon. I sent the SCT tuner back to them and they corrected it at no additional charge.
You cant use the steeda cold air intake without a tune as the engine would run lean and go into limp home mode. Read this it's very good:http://www.mustangmonthly.com/featuredvehicles/mump_0512_2005_2006_ford_mus- tang_modifications_ecu_exhaust/index.html

Calling the bullitt an overglorified GT is an ignorant statement. I've owned both a normal GT with mods and the bullitt... the bullitt is in a completely different realm. I do agree that for the price of the challenger... it isn't doing much better than the bullitt.

Don't you think the smaller hemi (375 hp) would be a better test. You people run the most lop sided tests of all.

Only the Idiots at Edmunds would compare a 425 hp Hemi to a 315 hp Mustang. I paid $30,315 for my Bullitt. My friend paid $45,000 for a base 425 hp Challenger. The Dodge Dealer would not budge. They were also very arrogant. Why didn't they test the Challenger against the less expensive $42,000 Mustang Shelby KR? I love how Edmunds also forgets to mention How the Challenger takes premium fuel only and gets 18 mpg compared to 23 mpg from the Bullitt and it takes regular fuel.
I guess anyone could get a job testing cars. It's beyond belief how stupid these people are.

It takes Dodge 425 hp to barely beat 315 hp Ford. I'm so impressed all that extra money spent on that Dodge just to barely beat a Ford. Dodge is really on top of their game with this one. Wonder what would happen if Ford had 325 hp what would be Dodges excuess?

Barely beat the bullit??? LMFAO. 13.2 vs. 13.7 in the Qtr mile is a lifetime. That is a few bus-lengths. 10 more HP would shorten the loss to one+ bus-length.

What the hell are you talking about a $42,000 KR? That car starts at like $65,000 and thats not including any other options or markups!!!
