As far as I know the 2007-2008 Outlander is not sold in the USA with signal mirrors. I don’t know what you mean by saying that all outlander are the same. I think that the 2009 Outlander is going to have a new transmission (i.e. double clutch).

What are you talking about? Do you think that car in your pics is the 2009 US Outlander? The pictures you posted are from Mitsubishi Japan's website, which is a picture of the 08 Outlander 3.0L V6 sold in JAPAN. Those pictures you posted have been the same pictures since Oct 2007. MMNA haven't even announced the 2009 US model yet AFAIK. The 2009 US model will have enhancements as expected, mostly derived from the features of the 08 Outlander SE, which is to be made available to the other trims.

It might get SST, but nothing confirmed. Currently planned for EU Outlanders only.

Perhaps you are right. But you don’t have a 2007 Outlander unveiling on year 2009.

I don't know where you're getting the idea that it is a 2009 model. I don't even see from the pictures you're posting that it's a 2009 model.

The 50 state diesel engine will be made available in the 2010 model year. First beneficiary will be the Lancer line-up which will be equipped with a 2.0L turbo diesel engine. Mitsubishi is even changing to diesels on their Montero/Pajero Evolutions for Dakar 2009 after it's maiden run in the 08 Central Europe Rally. From all indications, the US will get a diesel engine made by Mitsubishi itself, in cooperation with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, in contrast to the ones currently used in Europe Outlanders which uses diesels made by other companies (e.g. VW and Peugeot) through OEM partnership agreements.

I doubt it. Only very few brands (e.g. Volkswagen, Mercedes, BMW, Audi) have managed to pass the emission regulations for Diesel engines in the USA. Mitsubishi will need at least 5-years to produce a low toxic gas emission.

Please take note that are hundreds of Diesel in Europe and even the Chinese have 4x4 Diesel that are sold in Europe but that doesn't means that they can make their way into the USA market. Diesel engine from Mercedes cannot be sold in California and other states, BMW cheat the regulations by incorporating an extra container with “Urea” that manages to comply with the USA regulations. Volkswagen cannot pass the regulation with the Tiguan 2.0 Liter Diesel but so far there is nothing concrete although the Diesel are sold in Europe since January this year. The first Diesel 2.0 Liter (Wagon) is announced for the fall, and so on.

My personal opinion Diesel will no be available in a degree like the petrol engine until 2012.

Well, do you have links to back up your claim? Or is it just another baseless opinion?

Perhaps you could give sources to dispute my opinion.
