... that's bound to be controversial is the new BMW Z4 (E89) in BMW speak. Based on what I've read elsewhere this is one of those love/hate designs. I think (pending a sighting inthe metal) I love it, look at how the light plays off the surfaces Thanks to the folding hardtop, the E89 looks great even w the top up. BTW, I should mention that I hate the current Z4 w it's lumpy trunk, blob tailights and plain interior. Love it? Hate it?

The current Chief of Design Adrian Van Hooydonk gets much of the credit for recent BMW's including the One Series, new 3 Series, 7 Series Refresh as well as the new Z4.

that there's quite a bit of BMW 507 in the new Z4? |

Replying to: 62vetteefp (Dec 17, 2008 9:15 am) Prominent side creases have been elements of BMW design since the 1950s.

Replying to: andys120 (Dec 17, 2008 9:54 am) On some cars there's a crease that comes off the top of the front wheel opening and carries forward to the front of the car. I always liked this look. In fact, it was one of the things that attracted me to the '57-58 DeSoto and Chrysler. I also like it on the '61-62 Cadillac and '59 Mercury. Ford did it as well in '57-59, Studebaker did it a few years, and countless others, I'm sure. |
