Replying to: bigdan1 (Apr 16, 2008 7:31 am) You will need to go to a store. They will plug a scanner into your car's computer (under the dash) and it will show why the light is on. They will give you a print-out of the results and possible causes. You might want to call first and confirm that they do that in your area. I think the service is available at all Autozone stores, though. There is no charge and you are under no obligation to buy anything.

Replying to: bigdan1 (Apr 16, 2008 6:32 am) I have 2000 Taurus, check engine light came on at about 58000k. After a lot of worry changed gas filter had checker auto parts reset codes. Light never came on again. Filter was partially plugged.
