I realize speed isn't everything, but why do they come down on the flex for being slow at 9 seconde to 60 when this is even slower.

from styling, performance, fuel economy, interior. This pilot is more like GM, and GM is more like honda ... hehe.

Ok so yeah at first I turned my nose up at this one too. My wife was quitting an 05 Oddy that handled poorly at best in the snow. So we were definitely going 7 or 8 passenger SUV. The big guys were too big (Sequoia and Tahoe) and we drove a lot of the crossovers. For all you Enclave lovers - my light footed slow driving wife felt the Enclave didn't have enough power. So we walk into Honda to politely give the Pilot a try before dismissing it. We loved it. The Navigation System is great! The sound is better than half of your home theaters! Here was a crossover size car with a third row that we could keep up and still have a trunk. I love the hatch access to the trunk for placing simple things without opening the whole tailgate. The seats really are that comfortable. Our car is a Touring and the dual driver memory so nice. All of the toys that you read about are as good as advertised. My only comment is if you need to accelerate you can .... but you need to go to high RPM. Its her car she never needs to worry about it. I drive it on family drives and its not a big deal. The power and pickup is why you pay the premium for the MDX. But if you want to save the $$ you buy the Pilot and like us very quickly you love it!

No... if you need power to move your family out of harms way, or up a hill, you look elsewhere, like a CX-9 or Flex. 9.0 is slow but 9.7 is bordering on disgustingly slow.. no way should a crossover be THAT slow and get THAT low of a MPG.
