Such negative attitude. It's just a SUV. It's not the end of the world. |

Replying to: trdprerunnerdc (May 02, 2008 4:15 pm) quote: "The Pilot rides a little more like a truck and less like a soggy old minivan" Question: Have you folks driven the Odyssey in the last decade??? Ours handles/rides and gives better steering feedback than most current cars. If you want something that drives like a truck, then fine. |

Mazda CX-9, Buick Enclave, Toyota Highlander, GMC AcadiaI If we line up those cars cars above without the brand name and look at the styling, which one would you rank from number one to last? I bet most of you won't pick the Honda Pilot as number one. But if we put back the brand names and look at perceived quality, most will pick up the Pilot and the Highlander. But why is GM selling a lot of these SUV's? It must be the styling since some of you don't see them on par with Honda's quality. Now, imagine putting a Honda or Toyota badge with Enclave or CX-9.. I bet they will sell like hot cakes. My point is, Honda could have sold more Pilot if the styling is good. Although some of you are die hard fan of Honda, there are people out there looking for style and Honda won't attract them. |

| Right, some people don't yet know it, but Buick's quality is on par with that of Lexus in terms of the number of defects per 1,000 vehicles. Too late to steal an Enclave, though; GM is not giving the kind of incentives of a couple of years ago. The Pilot, although slightly better in terms of content, is still too heavy and thirsty for this new world of $4+ gas. These are great special-use second cars; not for daily drivers. | |
After researching SUV after SUV and trying to fit 7-8 passengers while not draining my life's savings I looked at the Honda Pilot 08. It missed the boat with some of its ammenities. (bluetooth, mp3 jack, rearview camera). I then looked at the highlander, which although it had the ammenities it looked like a station wagon jacked up on nice wheels. The 08 pilot felt roomier inside though. I then waited for the 2009 pilot. They answered my prayers. they fixed everything I didn't like. They even made it more (manly looking, "boxy") Why do you think men like hummers? It has a mean rugged look. Some people, like myself, like the chiseled corners as opposed to the curves, IT'S A SUV! I realize that 99% of the time we won't need the 4 wheel drive, but I just want it. They made the grocery getter more appealing to a man instead of catering solely to the woman. Drive it and you will see.
