Someone has been messing heavily with the Tiguan today (Sunday). As of about 17:00 CST over 1,400,000 shares have been traded. I saw a high share price in the 90.00 dollar range and then a minute later it was less than one dollar, and then back to about 10 dollars just a minute after that. I am honestly not accusing anybody, but I also noticed neurotic has made about a million dollars today.

How do you figure that, brady? Note that the most recent transaction is at the top.

Let me translate your transactions in different terms:
1. Shorted 13,048 shares, essentially you "paid" 12.30/share (inverse of 87.70 or 100.00 - 87.70). Break-even amount: $160,490.40
2. Covered 81,366 at 16.04/share: Transaction value: 1,305,110.64. I don't know how many shares you owned total (and what the value of those previous transactions were, but for #1 short, you made 16.04 - 12.30 = 3.74/share. For #1, you should have come out ahead 48,799.52 (or thereabouts).
3. You then sold 68,318 share at 16.96. I don't know the price at which you originally purchased these shares. That will determine the profit or loss you had here.
4. And now you hold a short position of 13,259 shares.
Is that correct?

Before these transactions, I had no position in S94X. What I wanted to try was going from max short to max long back to max short. It let me go from max short to max long in just one transaction. Then when I had a long position and selected max short, it only sold all my long shares and didn't go short. I then placed the final order to go max short again.
Mike, was there anyone else placing trades on S94X between my first and last trade?

Although I do did not calculate your earning in detail, from my multi hundreds experiential transactions back in March/April, you are more likely to lose money by trading yourself. These were few instances where you would make money, but the results were fairly random and not consistent even the same stock. (experimented on a different day, same number of shares) Of course the algorithm might have changed since then, but i figured such transactions were not worth the risk anyway. Anyways, have fun.

I lost $6 MILLION today. I was bumping up and down to make a few thousand bucks ($10-15k) and got stung. If this is legit, I'll eat it and continue to play. However if there is a glitch or no other purchasing during this time, I'd sure like to see it fixed.

And how is it possible to lose 50% when the max you can invest is 25% of net worth?

I didn't think anything of it but I got a similar glitch with the Tiguan about a week ago...
Volkswagen Tiguan (VWTG) 83,110 $1.38 $114,691.80 10:03am 10/09/2008 Sell
Volkswagen Tiguan (VWTG) 83,110 $25.55 $2,123,460.50 10:02am 10/09/2008 Buy
Granted, I wanted to bleed off some cash but not $2 million worth....

Probably not an error. Someone probably trade against you when you were making those large moves. If you want to bleed off some. Just buy or short tons of stocks and let market correct itself. Selling in large chunks has always a high risk.
