#1 of 2 2000 Blazer overheating prob

I have owned my 2000 Blazer for 3 1/2 years, and it is a constant problem, but I love it. Anyways...When I am idle the temp gage on the dash sores to overheating and then when I go again, it goes back down to about normal. Could this be a fan clutch issue?

Yes, it could be a fan clutch, but could also be a partially blocked radiator. The fan clutch almost always generates a roaring sound when at low speed.
With the engine off, turn the fan by hand. There should be a stiff resistance if the outside temp is warm. If it turns freely even when the engine and outside temps are hot, you have a bad fan clutch.
