To me, it looks like a 7/8th scale International Travelall. My wife loves it, but she wishes that they would've kept the wicker interior trim from the Fairlaine concept car. At $37 grand for an AWD Limited, its right in there with the Expedition King Ranch which is close in mpg and can tow more. Personal taste- I prefer lower rather than higher belt lines. It's uncomfortable to rest my arm on the windowsill of my Milan. When steel goes up and/or glass comes down, you'll see lower beltlines. The '61-'64 Thunderbird- now there is a hiphugger beltline! |

| Right now its kinda edgy-cool but in two years the angles you like will not cover up the ones it lacks.I would like to see Ford's market research because I don't see much of a demand for this vehicle. This car is for the anti-car guy. | |
I think the styling is pretty fresh, if just a little to simple. The Flex is basically a minivan alternative (it's comparable to minivans in terms of size and price), and when you think of it that way, it has a great chance to succeed. The only questions I have are (1) is it's fuel efficiency going to compare favorably to Toyota and Honda minivans (probably not) and (2) will its style actually be functional for people with infants?

| I think the body styling is a complete rip off of the scion xB. Here Ford offers the same style of car, once seen as too boxy and ugly to ever be popular, only with seating capacity up to 7. Who honestly uses all 7 seats in a car? With gas prices climbing as fast as they are, when we we see a car that gets 30+ mpg come out of Detroit instead of another full-size SUV/or SUV crossover. | |

People who do well when the economy does (business people, more or less) are the ones who buy luxury suvs in bulk. Those made a lot of companies a lot of money. Now that things have settled down, those people still want a stylish car. Why not give them an alternative to their escalade that costs less and uses less gas, but has much the same effect on people? The Scion Xb is a rip off of a toaster. I am sure it is designed to get a five star safety rating. If you want a 30 mpg SUV you have to look to Detroit and the CD2 hybrids. 34 city 30 hwy. If you want a 30 mpg, look at the Focus which gets the same mpg as the corolla. A Honda fit is still probably the best space/mpg bargain.
