I'm not sure if I like it or not. A lot of cars or coming out with more of a chopped look (less glass, more sheet metal) and I think that is generally a good trend.

one of my clients asked me why they were doing that style... came up with something real quick that worked

"one of the main goals of this vehicle's design was to maximize safety without compromising styling. Steel can absorb energy and protect you a lot better than glass so that's why we see more of it in our new body styles"

The bad part that I don't ever bring up is sometimes it limits visiblity. Some lady asked me why it was hard to see out the back of one of our SUVs, I said those pillars were specifically built for strength, to reduce body flex and keep your family safe in case of a vehicle roll over."

both worked like a charm

Bah what BS. Plenty of cars have great visibility and incredibly strong bodies/roofs. Most subbies, SAABs and Volvos fall into that category and Land Rovers too.

The high waistline style is just stupid. I want more glass so I can see what I am doing.

To me, it looks like a 7/8th scale International Travelall. My wife loves it, but she wishes that they would've kept the wicker interior trim from the Fairlaine concept car. At $37 grand for an AWD Limited, its right in there with the Expedition King Ranch which is close in mpg and can tow more.
Personal taste- I prefer lower rather than higher belt lines. It's uncomfortable to rest my arm on the windowsill of my Milan. When steel goes up and/or glass comes down, you'll see lower beltlines. The '61-'64 Thunderbird- now there is a hiphugger beltline!

Right now its kinda edgy-cool but in two years the angles you like will not cover up the ones it lacks.I would like to see Ford's market research because I don't see much of a demand for this vehicle. This car is for the anti-car guy.

Flex=Yay, no minivan by reliaman

I think the styling is pretty fresh, if just a little to simple. The Flex is basically a minivan alternative (it's comparable to minivans in terms of size and price), and when you think of it that way, it has a great chance to succeed. The only questions I have are (1) is it's fuel efficiency going to compare favorably to Toyota and Honda minivans (probably not) and (2) will its style actually be functional for people with infants?

No it's not, I can't get enough of the 4-door coupe looks on many of the modern day sports sedans.
