Hi! I was wondering if anyone knew about the fuel filters on the Aveo? It says in the owner's manual to get them changed at 90,000 miles, but when I went to the dealer, they said that they were in the tank and couldn't be changed. They couldn't even find it on the list of services to get with this car or find a fuel filter part. So, I was wondering if anyone's had their fuel filter changed or has had it clog up on them?

I got stuck three times because the fuel gage on my 2009 Aveo lit up too late and I had to walk to the next gas station to get some gas to get going again. My vendor's technical service did not see anything abnormal and told me to fill up sooner and not wait until the warning light came on. My understanding is that I have some 60 km to find a gas station. The car's manual states that the reserve tank holds six liters (1.59 gallons). I then checked the kilometers to stalling after the fuel gage warning light came on: about 11 km (6l.83 miles). In view of this information and after checking with General Motors the Vendor agreed to a technical examination and after another consultation with General Motors told me in essence today that nothing was wrong and that I should fill up sooner. The man at the service desk, when asked, told me that he had never any such complaint with any of the Aveos serviced by him. Is a complaint reasonable? If yes, any suggestion on where to turn next? |
