I wanted to start an SCCA thread, so here it is! Just out of curiousity, how many SCCA attendees (members or nonmembers) are here?

Chapter: Montana Region 105
Member? Yes (1st full year)
Car: 2001 Honda S2000 (s/c)
Class: STX or STU
Events: Solo I & II, drag
Years participated: 4 including '08
Formal instruction: I've received several invites to the Porsche Club sponsored track testing in Lewistown. While not a school, the testing involves a high speed course with a pro in the passenger seat.

Ex-SCCA member. I haven't registered in a few years. I am a certified HPDE instructor with both SCCA and NASA in the Northest Region/Area.

I'm not currently a member, I plan on joining once my kids get older and can enjoy attending the events with me. I really enjoy watch the events on TV, especially the World Challenge events.

2 problems I have with SCCA are they don't allow older AWD cars and don't allow any automatics.

Really? Perhaps your region didn't allow them. There are autos here and there are quite a few mid-90s Subarus as well.

They are not allowed in any SCCA Road racing. Not a regional rule, it's a national rule. They allow WRXs and newer Subarus w/AWD, but no ATs and No older AWD cars are allowed

I would be interested in possibly getting involved with SCCA events, I live in Northern California and I think there is a large group, no?

I joined the PCA (Porsche cars America club). Not sure if they are affiliated or not. I wonder how many porsche owners belong to the SCCA?

We have about 4 Porsche owners in our region. They participate in SCCA races and host their own events. I received a couple invites but have unfortunately been unable to attend as of yet.
