I currently own a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel with 75,000 miles on it. I am getting a little over 18 mpg. I have cool air intake, chip and 5" exhaust system.
I am going to purchase a new Dodge,Chevy or Ford p/u diesel.
The comments on this board regarding their mpg is scaring me away from purchasing a new diesel.
Are the mpg numbers really that low (9-12 mpg)?
Any ideas on which models to stay away from?
I am a dodge person but am thinking about getting the 08 Chevy Silverado LTZ crew cab.
HELP

hey man, im looking to get a diesel myself. I have never owned one but i know ppl who do and they love them. Of course some friends are telling me not to because i dont pull anything but a trailer with 4 wheelers on it, and i drive 25 mins to work one way. They say its not good to own one for a average person to drive. BUT they hold thier value better. Im sorry i dont have alot of information. As i read up on this stuff tho so far i am looking at a chevy 2500. I have also thought between ford and chevy ill buy the one that has more of a made in america % .
like i have said im new to this, and once again im sorry i dont have much info at all, But if i come across some helpful information i will pass it to you.
