If you are looking at 2008 Sonatas, there is a $3000 rebate on them right now as Hyundai wants to clear them out for the 2009 model.

This is perhaps the best possible time to get a '08 Sonata. The general rebate is at an all-time high, and dealers are motivated to move them off their lots because the 2009s are showing up. The 2008s are no longer being made, so don't wait too long--once they're gone, they're gone. Who knows if and when incentives will be as big on the 2009s?
Also... if you live in or near a city with a recent auto show, or coming soon, keep an eye out for coupons or special deals available at the show.

Thanks backy, really got my eye on the Sonata ,now its the timing (rebate, incentive and inventory). Was and am a Toyota owner but think the Korean car makers are closing the gap.Did I say that? Anyhow this cars tough to beat if you factor in everything(Sonata). Vince17

Is the $3000 rebate really going to end on March 31? Hyundai likes to continue their rebate period. What do you all think.

Hey asdf9, Heres what I think, the 08 rebates are probably gonna be around till the inventory is gone. But check this out ,the 09 Sonata with the same engine size is up to allmost 250 horse power and I think better gas milage then the 08s.With this being said ( oh by the way its the 3.3 liter engine) this allmost makes it a bit tougher to sell the 08s without some sort of generous incentive.Wouldnt be surprised if you see zero percent financing with the three grand rebates for the 08s.Now lets throw something else into the mix,the fear of the R word(recession) The auto makers dont want cars backing up on the lots without any revenue, how ever so small,so stay tuned and see what happens, and if you do purchase an 08 let us know what kind of deal yha got ,Shalome vince 17

Agreed. I've got 138K miles on my current car and while I keep up with the forums & remain interested in cars in general I've little desire to get a new car. I've been payment-free since '01 and I like it.
