I did the online customer service input about 2 months ago, and got the automated response. I also wrote a letter to Mr Castignetti (sp?), GM for Nissan North America at the end of March. This is nearing the middle of May, and neither customer service nor the executive suite has even acknowledged receiving my letter.
I wholeheartedly agree with your recommendation that people write. I'm just losing confidence that Nissan cares enough to talk to the folks that have bought their cars.

Just a general note. We must all bare in mind that the sales reps in these car dealerships, some times move from dealer to dealer and are not well versed in the newer products of their new home. Second. Even established sales reps in a dealership are faced with two situations. A --they have to know a good deal about fifteen different vehicles and B-- those fifteen different models are changing every 12 months with different options to boot. I guess in sales lingo, they call it PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE. We have a disticnt advantage over the average sales rep. we are only interested in The Murano. I know I wouldn't want to have to make a living being a car salesman. Lets give these guys a break. Steve

First, I want to say thank you for you help Steve. Second, I understand what you're saying but I don't think its right for the salesman to flat out say that something can't be done without checking first. I also think it might be a good idea for each dealership to train an "expert" in the functions of the car such as audio and nav to help and train new owners as to how to set-up things. Rather than just the walk through by the salesman when you get your car. In my opinion, there's just to much info coming in to really understand how to make use of all the options and functions you've just paid an arm and leg for, they might even charge a nominal fee for this service. It sure beats trying to figure things out in the manual for people like me who aren't up on technical things.

I have had a great relationship with my Nissan Dealer in Vero Beach FL. for 7 seven years now. I purchased a new 2004, 2006, and now a new 2009 Murano from him. I guess I'm pretty lucky because I deal directly with the owner. He has taken my suggestion, and now ultimately your's also, and trained six different salesperson to be a specialist in different Nissan models. i.e. Murano-Altima-Z-Armada-etc. He says it is working out rather well. Getting information out of "Nissan Consumer Help" is like getting tax relief from the IRS. Forget it. I have been trying for the last 6 years and all I get back is their standard computer generated response. I get more info and help from a blog like this and from gentlemen like Brad than any other source. Steve... Computer stuff isn't that hard, just follow the instructions and if you accidently screw up, don't fret. That why they put the BACK BUTTON there !!! Good Luck.....

I know this isn't the correct "Town Hall" site because Edmunds' Town Hall has another blog for other situations; but are any of you new 2009 Murano Ownwers having transmission trouble. i.e. hesitating or jerking? I just read about 5-6 bitter complaints today. Maybe I shouldn't buy just yet. Steve

I have about 3,200 on my 2009 and no problems with tranny or any other aspect of the Murano.

Steve, where are you reading about these tranny problems?

Hi Mike, I have been in this hotel room working off my laptop for 49 days now. I can't give you the exact url because I wonder around the Murano blogs a lot, not paying particular attention. I Think it was Edmunds Town Hall, but when I find it again I will let you know for sure. Steve
