| This was my first ipo purchase and I was able to get a buy max of 90k shares at $2 and sold at around $32...Pure luck with timing the refreshes is my only guess. | |

The IPO's here need to have an opening price based on traders average BUY price set before trading starts . Otherwise you will have to place a buy order and a price you are willing to pay before the IPO.

I have made profit on getting lucky on the low IPO and on shorting sky high IPOs, something much easier to do. You know there's going to be a buying frenzy and the price will spike...go for the short. Especially when it's one low volume stock like today. The past week has shown prices will normalize (although there's a limit to that with the first batch because of dead/dormant accounts keeping share prices stable). Yes, I got lucky on tuesday with a great price on the IPO but there's no way it would put at no. 3 after without my long-term shorts putting me in the top 100 for August. There's more than one way to play the game...but remember, there's 6500 odd players and one winner. It's a bit like a lottery to begin with. |
