The lag has gotten so bad. Even during slow periods, it's taking well over 1 min for any page to load. Rush periods are completely hopeless.

Mike, one commonality between the two pages that will not load for me (portfolio and trade screens): they are the only two pages that require you be logged in to view. Is there a separate login server that could be the source of the slowdown?

Speaking as a programmer, I'd say that's just a coincidence. I think it's more of the fact that those pages are the ones that are pulling a lot of specific user data (in your case).
 
To Mike: have your guys run some "explain plan"s on the queries involved. There might be some indexing that could help.

I could see that with the Portfolio but that wouldn't make sense for the individual stock trade screen, which contains a limited amount of user information.
 
Also, I just managed to load my profile using IE, but it still won't load on Firefox.

I still can not load portfolio and individual stock trade screen. maybe mike banned us from trading our wealth ... it seems like bigbigk has no problem trading though.

I think there should be a report techinical issues button, where when you run into an issue you can click it and contact Mike.
 
I wrote about my short position not being treated as a purchase but it hasn't been resolved yet. Basically, I shorted stock at $64 dollars but instead of inverting it so that my transaction listing saying $36 dollars, it shows as me shorting at $36 dollars and my transaction lidting says $64 dollars. This may seem confusing but it is basically as if I bought the stock at $64 dollars instead of shorting it. Now the stock plummeted and I should show a gain but instead show a major loss.

Although I do not know the median wealth of the players, I think the minimum requirement for the prize eligibility should be higher than what the new players will receive. This will prevent the active players to create new accounts on the first day of the new month for the monthly prize. (Also if they have a good chance of winning, they would not risk of creating additional account on the last day of month) It will also motivate the new players to join in the middle of the month to gain some trading experience.

I am not trying to crowd the Stock list page but it would be nice to see a release date for the stocks to know when they will be retired. I think the retire date will impact the share price (at current level at least).

There is a Retire Date on the Stock pages. It's across from the Release Date info. See the Forester page for example: http://csx.edmunds.com/Main.php?do=individual_stock&stock=FSTR.
 
Some vehicles haven't been released to the public yet, so they are still listed as TBD until we get release date confirmations.
