Replying to: xed (Feb 28, 2008 1:37 pm) Yes profits can and often does effect stock prices due to speculation based on the earnings information... but that's not what I meant by "direct connection". My point was that money isn't somehow dumped into the stock price directly by the company... and sometimes companies report great earnings and the stock takes a dump... it's all based on speculation of that stocks future and supply and demand. Then 30 seconds later, it was $87 on the market again and I was upside down. That one hurt, and I still don't know what happened...
