That is interesting. This morning I bought 1 share of VW Tiguan. It was at $50/share when I began the transaction. I got it for $50/share, because it looks like there was no other movement on the stock and I must have caught it early in the next lot size (the increment it takes to move a stock in either direction).

I am not trying to defend the CSX.. but I make over 60 transitions everyday but never saw such thing.. I sometimes make several 1 share trades to stimulate other players to initiate the trades but it always resulted one price fluctuation... are you sure the volume traded did not change from the point you check the price and confirmation page? Someone might have traded in between.

However, as the players accumulate more wealth it might be beneficial to reduce the price fluctuation per batch.. like rather than $1.25 change per, lets say 2000 shares, why not reduce the impact into $0.75. This will reduce the benefit of crazy day trading...

We have to do a more thorough analysis of the impact of the lot sizes. Originally, the lot sizes were smaller and we changed it to make the movement less substantial.

One of the main issues is the amount of $$$ CSX players have relative to the number of stocks available, so it can be difficult to prevent some wild fluctuations. But we may yet again tweak things based on this kind of feedback and the concerns various players have voiced over the last few weeks.

Transaction type by bg96

Out of my last five covers in my transaction list only one has shown up as a cover. I've had three show up as a cover/buy even though it was a straight cover. I double checked and didn't in fact buy additional shares. The other one showed as a regular buy. I know its not that big of a deal, but if I'm looking for a particular transaction it'll throw me off for a couple seconds until I realize what the transaction should have been listed as. I seem to recall this happening a few weeks ago also.

This has been happening to me as well, but as bg96 says, all the numbers seemed accurate so I did bother. However, whole Corolla and F-series trading issues are still not resolved (occasionally buying or selling more shares than I entered)

Is anyone else noticing this to be true, that there are significant swings in the last trade price and estimated price per share no matter what the quantity you purchase? I have been trying to ge tout of some stock for weeks but the price swing is too significant. In this game a swing of a couple dollars can make or break you.

I've been trying to take advantage of some swings in the market, but when I go to buy or short, the price can jump almost as much as $2.00/share, regardless if you only trade one share or thousands. It's slowing my trading down considerably. I wonder if it is because there are fewer playing, therefore, fewer transactions?

I see some jumps on the price as well. However today is really quite despite being Monday, when everyone prep for tuesday IPO... maybe it is because there is only one IPO.. I am trying to reduce the number of trades I am making these days.. resisting my temptation of being day-trader..

I still hold some stocks that jump like that. It does appear to be a volume thing. I constantly do the "1 share test" before making any transaction. Depending on recent activity, I can sometimes trade without shifting the price. I think some are becoming wary of this. People seem to be trading right to the edge of price movement and this causes the stock to appear booby trapped when the next hapless soul tries to trade even 1 share.

You're exactly right! I have several that I won't take advantage of when trying the "1 share test" because of whatever shift there is. I mean a $1.75-$1.80 swing can take a sizeable amount-if not all-of the profit you've made on those shares. Maybe shorting high and going long term is the way to go-but would that ever be boring...
