I would like to put bigger tires on my 2002 Envoy XL but am not sure how big I can go. Would like to put 255/70 on stock are 245/65. Has anyone tried bigger tires on their Envoy?

260/65 is about as big as one can go without tire rub on turning

My Outback's Potenzas were great on pavement, but the 17" wheel and low profile was rough on bush roads. I would like to go to 16" wheels and taller tires with grabbier tread next year. Any Subaru aficionados out there with advice? Is this hard on the viscous drive system? Affect efficiency?GngGng (=grandfather in Mandarin)
