| I have had my Yukon going on 9 years now and I have not experience that yet. But I did experience it with my other car and it was the mass air sensor, It is that unit in front of the square air cleaner unit. You might want to be very careful when cleaning it with carbertor cleaner and re-install it and see what happens and if not that You need to take it in and have a meter connected to it so it can identify the problem. I hope helps you? | |

I have a 04 denali XL with a little over 76,000 miles and surprisingly this is the first problem I ever had with it. Last week, my wife was driving it and came home. I got in it and went to pick my kid up from the bus stop and was on a decline and little did I know, it was low on gas. When I restarted the vehicle, it sounded as though it was flooded. but after 3 tries, it started and I took it home. After getting home, I started and shut it off, repeating the process several times to see if it was just me or the truck. After letting it sit overnight, I woke the next morning and tried to start it and it again sounded like it was flooded. But it always starts on the third try. I haven't taken it to the dealership and really don't want to because I know that if I do, the police might have to drag me outta there with the BS that they try to give out so any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance. |

Were you assuming that it sounded like it was flooded? When you say flooded, did you smell gas? or did the engine just kept cranking over and over and no hope of catching a spark? You might want to check the gas filter? since you were on a decline and on very low gas (this is where all of the junk from the inside of the gas tank and fuel goes through the system and gets the fuel filter plugged with crap). Secondly, if that doesn't work check your mass air control unit. But since this is a newer vehicle, if you can borrow the tool that plugs into the computer of the car it will indicate to you (by code) what the issue is with your Denali. I hope this helps and let me know the status...

| i just bought my 2009 yukon xl,2800 miles on it.same shit is happening with mine.i made a left u-turn the first time and it stalled, started right up.i thought it might have been because i only had an 1/8 tank of gas,so i let it go.i did notice it ran sluggish,so i upped the fuel octane to plus, cost a little more but gave it a try.same shit.was driving home the other night and made a left u-turn,1/4 mile down the road got on the on ramp, stalled again, with my family in the car.pissed me off big time.i took it to gmc dealer today, can't find anything wrong with it.they told me i had to wait till the computer picks it up to diagnose the problem.he said it might be the aftermarket dvd player that it might be shorting something out.he said they would have to disconnect it to see if that is the problem.i will let you know what is happening after i deal with them.they obviously know there is a problem, since i am not alone in this, they just want to blow smoke up my ass.pisses me off. | |
here is something i hope will help some of you, just found this on internetautoguide.dated may 6,2009.for the 2009 yukon xl.GM IS RECALLING GMC YUKON,YUKON HYBRID,YUKON XL AND CANYON VEHICLES.the fuel system control modules may have a condition in which an adhesive separation of the room temperature vulcanizing (rtv)seal and the housing, may allowwater to seep into module.the consequences-WATER IN THE MODULE COULD CAUSE A SHORT OR OPEN CIRCUIT,ILLUMINATION OF THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LAMP,SETTING OF DIAGNOSTIC CODES OR ENGINE MAY BE HARD TO START,MAY NOT START OR MAY STALL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH! dealers will install a new fuel system control module fee of charge(how nice of them)the recall began on may 18,2009.contact gmc atwww.gmownercenter.com.the dealer sent me home knowing full well that there is a serious problem and he knew what to do to fix it and he didn't.he just let me walk out the door,he had no regard for my safety or the safety of my family.tommorrow i am bringing my truck back to gmc and telling them i don't want it.there is a 60 day satisfaction guarantee "the right gmc for you or we will take it back",is what the article states.i fall into this category.i hope some of you can do the same.i will blog tommorrow and let you know the outcome.

| just got back from dealer, again.brought all my info on the recall and told him that i read about others having same problem.he told me,again, that the trucks computer needs to pick up the problem so they can fix it,and that he can't remember a recall.this is what we are dealing with.he stated that they reprogrammed something to do with the sluggishness the car was having.again, nothing found that would address the problem of my truck stalling.and i can't turn the truck in like i posted earlier.it is a new program and you may return the vehicle if not satisfied if you purchased it between sept.15 and oct.15.i purchased my truck in late july.am calling gm today,i will post what they said. | |
