Thanks Brewboy. I have been reading the posts on the Diablo site about the Predator to get some more information and it sound like a nice addition to the truck. I'm like you, if I need to show an Escalade whose boss I want to make sure it's me with the better truck.

Brew,
Did you use the tune that came with the Diablo, or did you get a tune from someone else, then load it on the Diablo? I am asking because I have a SCT II tuner for my mustang GT, but I bought my tunes from someone who wrote them for my engine code and upgrades, like the CAI. I have an 07 Yukon Denali, and want more form it. I see what a tune did for my stang. Holy crap!!! It's like driving a different car!! Thanks, and let me know.

I used the Diablo Performance tune because I didnt even know you could custom make your own tunes or buy the specs from someone else. I just read that the Escalade has the exact same engine and transmission but puts out 420 HP so its just a programming difference. I would be very interested to see what you could get for a Denali 6.2L custom tune, especially if you could crispen up the shifts. I hate the hesitation at low speeds with this 6spd. Let me know.

I have searched and searched, but I have yet to find any custom tunes for it. So, it looks like I will just use the one that comes with it. You see, with the Mustang, the tune changes for any mods you might have. So, I don't know if it will affect it when I add the cold air intake or not. We'll see!! I know what you mean about the lag. sucks. But, it sure is alot better than my Infiniti QX56!!

I put a Volant CAI on my 08 Denali and it seemed to make a significant difference in performance. Fuel mileage seems to be somewhat better but it could be my imagination. It's getting 15+ with both HWY and City driving and I don't really drive like a grandma. I plan to have the exhaust done and possibly the Diablo programmer. Is the U7194 Predator the correct programmer for my Denali? Stock HP on the Escalade is 403. Is it in fact the exact engine the Denali has? The Cadillac site makes reference to the VVT on the 6.2 in the Escalade.

Yes, the U7164 is the one that I have. I will have to look into the Volant CAI. Did you have any check engine light come on after the install? It would be nice to get a tune on my diablo that had the CAI factored in. I just do not know where to get one.

I got my Volant CAI at 4 Wheel Parts. The part/model number is 15253. I didn't have any check engine lights come on. I went in planning on getting the AFE intake but the Volant was the only one they knew for sure would not cause any check engine lights. It's a clean look and pretty simple to install. I paid $313.91 for it out the door but they were having a 20% off employee discount. I just got it 10 days ago. Here are some pics of it installed.
Does the Diablo make a significant difference in performance? How negative is the impact on MPG?
